Introduction to calibrations

Top  Previous  Next

A calibration is a set of parameters and settings to 'tune' an ECU to a particular engine combination. It contains all the information which you can edit from KManager, including fuel, ignition & cam angles tables plus the parameters. It is independent from the 'program' code used in the ECU.

Calibration files have the extension .kal. When KManager is installed, this file extension is associated with KManager so that you may open a calibration by double-clicking on it. If the file extension association does not work then open the Settings dialog and check 'Associate calibration and datalog files with KManager'.
