Introduction to the K-Series Programmable ECU

The Hondata K-Series Programmable ECU consists of three components:

 

ECU - the Honda ECU.
KPro - a electronic board which fits inside the Honda ECU which allows the ECU to be re-programmed plus adds datalogging functions.
KManager - Windows software which interfaces with KPro.

 

KPro I

Sold before April 2007
Green circuit board
Allows re-programming of the factory ECU.
Datalog from the ECU to a laptop via USB.

 

KPro II

Sold between August 2007 and September 2011.
Green circuit board
16 MBit of onboard datalogging memory.
10-110 minutes of recording without a laptop.
50 Hz onboard datalogging

 

KPro III

Sold from September 2011 to November 2014
Red circuit board
32 MBit of onboard datalogging memory.
10-200 minutes of recording without a laptop.
Improved upload speed (3 times as fast as the KPro I & II)
8 analog inputs for datalogging.
Digital input channel.
Calibrations stored on KPro for quick access and improved download reliability.
Anti-theft features: owner information stored on KPro, internet registration with Hondata, upload can be password protected.

 

KPro4

Sold from December 2014 onwards.
White circuit board
64 MBit of onboard datalogging memory.
100 Hz onboard datalogging
10-215 minutes of recording without a laptop.
Improved upload speed (50% faster than KPro3)
Bluetooth
Ethanol sensor input
Speed sensor input
RS232 output
CAN output
Flex fuel
Dash output
Advanced protection
Live tuning

 

Note that KPro installation requires modification to the ECU which is not reversible.
