Car wouldnt start, S300 issue?

Hi, I have a dc2R with S300
Couple days ago, my car's battery died.
i replaced the battery, the car would crank, but just wouldnt start....
I then noticed that when I turned the IGN on, the engine light would not go off after a couple seconds like it normally does...
So I plugged in my laptop to try to see why the engine light is on through the S300.. After I plugged my laptop to the ECU and turned the IGN on, I didnt see any codes on the S manager. And all of a sudden the engine light would turn off, and I was able to start the car....
I had no idea what happened, cuz I didnt press a button on the S manager. But then the car started and it ran fine, so I didnt think much of it..
But this morning the same thing happened. I plugged in my laptop again, no codes and again the engine light turned off after I plugged the laptop in....
One other thing I noticed is that after I started the car, The S manager doesnt get readings...
RPM, temps, IAT, etc... all dont show a reading...

Can anyone help?

Thanks

It happened to me again...
The car wouldnt start and the engine light would stay on after I turn the IGN on.

I plugged in my laptop again to see what the code was, and again I didnt see any codes... After I plugged my laptop in, the engine went off by itself again...

I was able to start the car, but the Smanager was again unable to get readings of the car. No rpm, temp, no nothing...

Any idea as to whats wrong?

This sounds like you have a grounding problem or something was damaged when you replaced the battery since this all started at that point. Are you actually clicking on the datalogging button to start datalogging?

All I did was plug the laptop in and i didnt even press a button in the S manager. The engine light turned off by itself and I was able to start the car...
About the issue where the Smanager doesnt get any readings from the car even when the car is on, before the battery issue, I experienced it a couple times.

Where do I start checking for grounding issues?

Check all the factory grounds in the engien bay, thermostat housing, transmission, and valve cover stud.

It will not datalog unless you click the button to begin datalogging or hit F10.

I dont mean the datalog.
Once you start the car, and you open the display window, it should show rpm, temps, etc... readings...
But mine doesnt show those readings even when the car is on.

It will not display anything until you begin datalogging.

the button w/ the yellow lightning bolt is your datalogger and the button w/ the red dot is your record.

The car ran fine for 3 days and this morning it didnt start again.
I will plug the laptop in tomorrow to get it started again then will head to the garage to check grounds....
If grounding is OK, what could be damaged?
The ECU itself?

It's impossible to say without more information.

For now, thats all the information I have, I'll go look at the grounding tomorrow and see whatsup with that....

If its not grounding what else could it be?
Its been raining a lot lately here in Hong Kong, and I mean serious rain...
Everytime I get the problem it happens to be raining hard...
