Very wierd issues with S300 on P28 and P75 vtec convert

Post by hybridej1 »

Ok, so I'm sure someone has seen this.

LS ecu 1980 board converted to VTEC spec.

New C14 cap 220uf/35v, J12 removed all the regular goodies installed properly.

Plug in S300, upload GSR base map fine, start the car (with knock enabled) and of course the check engine light is on. While the car is running, disable the knock sensor (here's the wierd part) and re-upload base map. The check engine light goes out but the ECU ends up in "limp" mode. No feed back from the ecu to show fuel/timing in real time.

WTF?

Ok, maybe it's a bad ecu.

Bust out a bone stock P28, fire it up to make sure it works, install the necessary parts and I get the same result as above.

Ok, so back to the LS ecu we go and upload a base LS map (with the injector modifier changed). This ecu runs!!! SWWEEET!!! But wait, the maps are running backwards???? WTF!!!!!!!!!!! This doesn't work at all...

Ughhh....Ok, so what's the deal here? Do I have a bad S300?
