hybrid aem intake
skunk2 cat back
jdm itr header and cat
i need an opinion on this tune. something to note, the guy who did the tune used the gsr base map instead of the itr one. don't know if this is the cause of the problem, but i have some serious hesitation issues. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where exactly are you experiencing hesitation in the datalog (exact time stamp)? If it has been tuned and you are having issues I would suggest taking it back tot he tuner and have them fix it. The fueling on the high cam looks really bad.

Thanks for the fast reply spunk. As far as an exact time stamp, I think a more relative question would be where am I not experiencing the hesitation. Due to this, I'm starting to look more on the mechanical side of things now rather than the electrical. I was hoping something might jump out at you. You can see on the datalog that my S.TRIM is spiking all over the place. I was also wondering if all of my sensors appear to be behaving normally to you? I'm questioning my O2 specifically, but I'm just not familiar enough with this yet to be able to tell what's normal and what isn't. I'm going to be ordering the PLX today, which I would imagine would help you help me a little better. I'm figuring I need to get the sensor module with the BOSCH WB, and it would probably be a good idea to get a gauge too for verification purposes that hondata reads the same as the gauge? Again, thanks for all the help.

Any help?
Is my O2 behaving properly?
What all do I need for the PLX?
Update:
checked compression=240psi on all cylinders
cleaned air intake filter
replaced fuel filter
found a coolant hose barely connected=fixed that
tiny crack in radiator=to be replaced
checked spark=wrong ngk plugs-replaced with ngk iridiums
plug wires had gone bad-replaced with new wires
small fuel filter in fuel hose from big filter to rail leaking/losing pressure=ordered the hose today and will replace tomorrow to omit the small fuel filter (don't understand why it was there?)
notes: plugs were black=burning extremely rich
all of this and i still experience the same hesitation
hesitation most apparent in 5th gear at low throttle in low rpm
things to do: check timing
adjust idle
adjust valves
Any ideas/comments?

If the car does not run right after a person tunes it there are 2 possible issues.
1) The person tuning the car did not do a good job and you either need to take it back and have them fix the tuning problem, or find a different tuner.
2) There are some mechanical or wiring issues that are casuing the problem and you must find and repair the problem.
Installation instructions for the PLX wideband can be found at

Yeah, unfortunately I believe both of them to be a problem in this case. I'm getting the fuel hose in today, and I'm going to be working on her this weekend. Replacing that hose, checking the timing, adjusting the idle, replacing the radiator, and adjusting the valves. I'm probably going to try using the stock-ITR map instead of this tune, and see if it will make a positive difference. I'll post an update on monday.

All I have done has definitely improved things as far as performance. I did replace that fuel line, but I still have yet to check the timing, adjust the valves, adjust the idle, install the PLX, and replace the radiator. I am installing a new header with a 2.5" collector as well as a 2.5" test pipe. My feelings are that maybe the cat is clogged or the engine may not be able to breathe enough and that could be causing a problem. Funny that I am actually doing this as a means to troubleshoot rather than just for the performance gains.
I went away from the tune that I had originally posted and went to the stock type-r map. The car definitely runs better now, and I don't think I'm going to be taking it back to that place. I am thinking of taking it to one of the hondata dealerships in Charleston, which is the closest to where I am, and getting them to tune it and possilby look at this issue, if I haven't fixed it by then.
The main reason why I posted this thread is still evident. At low throttle in low rpm in 5th gear I get a studder. I read in another post about what sounded to be my symptom. I'll try to get a datalog posted of this.
"If you suffer jerkiness at very light throttle when the injectors cut off, try changing the MAP value to around 15 kPA. This only seems to affect some people, usually with high compression engines."
I don't really understand this though as even at very light throttle the injectors should still be running correct? I tried the 15 kPA and my car still does the same thing, although it might not be quite as apparent. I think I'll try playing around with other values and see what happens.
Also, eventhough my TPS is set to 0% in datalog, I'm thinking about checking the actual voltage reading and adjusting to .45V on the money, if it isn't already there.
Another thing I'm going to do is try using another known good ecu I have to verify if it is indeed a hondata issue and is not something caused by the car/motor itself. I guess that really should have been one of the first things I did before even posting in this forum, but I'm learning.
I'll keep you posted.

I see now that changing that map value did absolutely nothing as it is only for use on itb using tps based lookups. duh, i really need to learn how to read. started trying to adjust the tps using a voltmeter but didn't have a backprobe, so i figured there had to be someway to get the percentage that hondata was reading in the software into a voltage reading. i didn't think it would automatically adjust for you. I figured out you have to hook your computer up to your ecu and datalog, read the low, press the pedal to the floor and read the high, and you're done. i found that my tps setting was off by .22%. I don't know how much of a problem this would cause. I'm also looking into the overrun fuel cutoff settings, as i think that might be related to the problem i'm experiencing.
