FAO hondata - S300 cb issue

Hi, I have a customer who had purchased a used Hondata (R8 board) and ecu from somone. The datalogging was very occaisionally intermittant and it got to the point where it wouldnt datalog and now gives a RED led.

So i have:

*tested known good S300-R8 in the ECU. all working no-problems on bench simulator
*tested the faulty RED led S300 in a known good P30 and a known good 28 ecu of the shelf, still red LED

I noticed the CN2 was clicking slightly when rocked so desoldered the four connection and removed the four pins from the plastic shroud, one of them was broken. I desoldered the other 6pin shroud from the corner of the S300 and utilised 4 of the good pins and soldered them in, tested the S300 again but still got a red LED.

Looking at the S300 itself the only visible thing that stands out is that C1 looks a little glazed, is it possible that the electrical connection issue wore this capacitor out? whats the value for this capacitor?

Hondata I would like you reccomendations on this as having sold and tuned dozens of Hondatas Ive never had this kind of problem as the products are rock-solid reliable in my experience.

Thanks

C1 is 10 uF, used for power supply smoothing, so is not critical. Unless it was shorted I would not think C1 would cause a problem.
