Best obd1 ECU with knock sensor for a P30 obd2a car

Post by Govroom »

I want to install a S300 in my 97 DelSol VTEC and retain the knock sensor. The current ECU is a P30 OBD2a, so I will need to purchase a used ECU. There are several OBD1 ECU that have the knock circuitry, is the P30 OBD1 the best match for my application? I see Hondata will test the ECU. Will a stock OBD1 work in an OBD2a car using the adapter cable? I am trying to think of a way to test the ECU before I ship it. Can the boost control circuit be added to this model ECU? Is there an option to install an OBD2a connector to a customer’s ECU, like is done with the Hondata ECU?

You can use any of the knock compatible ecus from the list at http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html

Boost control can be added to any of the US eecus in the list.

We do not add the built in adapter to user supplied ECUs. You will have to use an adapter harness if you want to use a ecu with knock control.
