Autotune questions

Post by uncledan »

I searched and could find the answers I am looking for. Any help is appreciated. I am trying to get a better understanding of the autotune feature. A step-by-step would be nice. I am using a Plx afr wired for narrow and wideband operation. Basically I want to know what happens after Ctrl-t is held down, and what steps I have to take to make the autotune adjustments take affect.

Do I have to be in open loop to use Autotune?

What does the command edit>set autotune base do?

What happens when Ctrl-T is held down? Are the corrections made automatically to the fuel tables? Do the corrections appear in the display>show autotune base tables? What has to be done to make the autotune adjustments permanent? Do I have to make manual adjustments to the fuel table values?

You must drive in the parts of the map you want to autotune while holding down CTRL-T. IT would be best to be in open loop. setting the autotune base allows the software to know what the values in the fuel tables were when you started so that it knows how to properly make changes. Changes are automatically made to he fuel tables when CTRL -T is held down.

We do not recommend using AUto tune as it typically jsut makes your fuel maps very jagged and you must then go and smooth them out manually anyway. The best tunig method for fuel tuning is to use the dyno and make a run and then go back and check your AF ratios and make adjustments to the map where needed.
