vtec via nonvtec ecu questions

hello all.
i know that you choose a output to run a wire to the vtec solenoid to control vtec.

my question is, is that all? do i not have to wire anything to the other sensors. such as

the vtec oil pressure,

is that just left alone?
so for me id disable the knock sensor, im removing the iab, and the run a control wire to the vtec solenoid and not wire anything to vtec oil pressure switch. is it really that simple to run just one extra wire to add vtec control to the non vtec ecu

vtec is just an on/off function,it really is that simple.

just use your now spare IAB wire to switch a relay which supplies power to the vtec solenoid.

since your ecu is non-vtec it will not be looking for vtec oil pressure signal so no need to do anything there.

aren't you suppose to use a relay when using non vtec ecu?

thats what i said,"use IAB to switch relay"

all the outputs are ground switches, including IAB on obd1,so in order to supply 12V to the one wire/cylinder head grounded vtec solenoid,u have to use a relay.
