Hooking up Switch for Dataloging??

So i dunno if im blind? I cant seem to find anywhere that explains how to hook up the switch for dataloging?

Im using pin B5 (AC switch) for actiavation. Do i have to apply power or Ground to this terminal to turn on the datalogging?

I've yet to do it myself, but if you look in the shop manual, the switch itself has 12volts (Black/Yellow) going in one side, and the other side goes through the fan speed switch and to ground. All you need to do is wire up the green wire off the switch to a ground of some sort.

This is going from my look at the 93 Integra shop manual, so your mileage may vary.

in normal operation the A/C(B5) input is expecting to be pulled from high to low when activated.
ie,when u apply a ground connection(low) to pin B5(which is normally high when no connection to pin B5),then ECU thinks A/C activated,or in your case "activate datalog"

so,yes,wire B5 input to one contact of your "normally open" switch & wire ground to the other contact of the switch.

if u "invert the input",u are telling the ecu to expect the B5 input to be pulled from low to high to activate datalog,so,same thing,ground connection(low) is always applied to B5= "datalog off", when u break ground connection from B5(input goes high) = "datalog on"

think of it this way,
pin B5 is toastin on the couch & is very "high" & very "inactive",not much happenin.......
when the cops bust down the door & confront pin B5,ie "downer","low","ground",then pin B5 is suddenly forced to become "active" & do somethin like turn on the A/C to clear the haze or maybe provide a datalog of where he hid or bought the stash, "bummerrrrrrrr"..........

if u want to use "actual" A/C switch on climate control panel to switch inputs,u have to do something similar to the following

So if the A/C has been removed from my car (which it has, along with all the A/C specific wiring), all I really need to do is run a wire from B5 to one side fo the A/C switch, and run the other side of the switch to ground, right? Do I really need to concern myself with cutting those other wires?

yes,well thats what removing all the A/C specific wiring does,it effectively makes all those cuts in the wiring anyway.
whatever remnants of the A/C switch are left in your dash board u just have to wire as u described.
maybe your A/C switch might have a little bit of wire still left attached to it or maybe its just bare terminals now,i dont know,but all the "cuts" have been made,u just have to do the "joins"
