I think I know the answer to this but want to make sure.
Suppose I have a good KAL tuned for my existing setup. Then I change my injectors to something larger. If I update my KAL and specify the new larger injector size, will the car still run ok? I'm pretty sure that even in the ideal case, it wouldnt be perfect, but thought perhaps the algorithm for totaling up fuel might scale the injector size and still be close to right.
I did see in one thread though where it was suggested that any change to the injectors would mean a complete retune.
Here is my actual issue. I'm currently NA, kpro is installed and running great, no issues. I'm about to install a S/C kit. I need a base map to get me to the tuners. I'd be taking the car straight from mechanics to tuners, so the base map would only need to be close and safe, nothing amazing. I thought about using the map that was posted for the Rotrex kit that is tuned for rc650 injectors. However I will be running 725cc injectors and a different kit.
So, if I used this map and changed the injector parameters, would it be close enough that I could drive 20 miles and not hurt anything? Of course I'd keep the rpms as low as possible to stay out of boost as much as possible.
Thanks for any advice,
J

Ok cool, as long as it wont be just flat out "No Don't Ever Do That", then I can probably make it work. I've got a boost gauge and wideband already installed and have been tuning it for months, so I can putter around gently and make sure my AFRs arent crazy dangerous.
Thanks much,
J
