Engine Won't start after update and initial calibration
Engine Won't start after update and initial calibration
motor was running fine before I did anything but I wanted to upload a new calibration and I noticed there was an update for kmanager. I decided to update and upload the initial calibration but totally forgot that my motor was running and in the middle of the calibration it shut off by itself. I went ahead and cleared security rebooted my laptop and tried to reupload the calibration but now the engine cranks but won't start. I've switched laptops and usb cables just in case that was a problem but still nothing. Please help. Thanks.
Did you try to download what is in the ECU uploaded at this point?
In KManager go Online > Tools > Download
Then check if all tables have correct values.
If values are ok, start dataloging and try to start your engine - then go trough the datalog to see what is hapening (or post it here along with the cal).
No error codes comming up?

I did what you suggested and everything looks fine. It's basically just one of the basemaps for the rsx base tuned with 91 octane fuel. Here is the calibration and datalogging I just did using the older version of kmanager.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
1) Your battery voltage is very low - from what i see in the datalog
2) Your vehicle is RDX? Does it have the same engine as RSX? - if yes then you have injector size set to 440cc and RSX is 270cc if I'm not mistaken
3) secondary intake runners are disabled in your cal (they are enabled in RSX map)
4) do you have non-standard primary O2 sensor conected or some reason to have O2 sensor checks disabled?

Also there is no response from O2 sensor. You have checked closed loop - but that can't work without working O2 sensor (if you uncheck O2 sensor checks - ECU thinks that O2 is working and expecting inputs from it). I would have closer look at O2 sensor ... from my point of view it seems to be somewhere there.
Try to put the ECU in open loop by unchecking closed loop and do another datalog.
cheers

Yeah, I noticed the battery voltage was very low as well but before that datalog I had the Jump starter battery connected to the battery in the car just in case and it still didn't start. Vehicle is a eg hatch with k20a3 from base rsx with rdx injectors, it is 410cc so thanks for catching my typo, I will correct that shortly. Also, I don't have a primary o2 currently hooked up when I did the datalog but in the past when it was running correctly I also didn't have it hooked up as I would only run it on open loop for my runs. (not a daily driven car). I also tried enabling the secondary intake runners and tried starting it and still nothing. I just want the car to start up so I can drive it down to a local tuner. Thanks for your help Dan. Greatly appreciated.
Also high cam angle 55 colum 9 and 10 speed index 2500 - that is wrong - 50 is maximum (and i doubt that even 40 will make decent power anyway)
Well - on my Civic Type R i usualy do small changes "online" by just pressing gas pedal a bit more to get more revs and clicking upload ... the car sort of "almost stall" and then it gets back to the normal idle and data change is uploaded and working ok. But i did full upload of a map when engine was running - no problem with that either.
KPRO is ok if you can get the cal and dataloging working ... so that is not the issue.
I had problem with one of the older KManagers that it took , instead of . when saving calibration (KManager locale settings in Windows bug). I have uploaded map that was total mess. I couldn't get the car going even after trying to upload the base map over and over again. What i did was uploading some different map - switch ingnition to 2nd position. Then switching it off and uploaded base map again - and it worked - car started without any problems.
Just out of interrest - why do you need 410cc injectors? FI build? Or just becouse they were available ;-) ...
Also, is the car sort of "almost getting started" or the engine is just turning on starter and no "i want to get going" thing is hapening?
Don't know what else it could be - maybe someone more experienced will know.

Yeah, that's the same thing I thought with my calibrations, but after downloading them from the ecu and taking a look at them they look fine. I tried what worked for you and that didn't get it to start either.
It wants to start like I can hear it catch on and the rpm jumping up from the 150 range to like 500 but then it doesn't. So yeah, it's "almost getting started". So close yet so far type of thing. It's bugging the hell out of me.
I put the 410cc injectors in here because I was getting ready to boost it last summer but I ended up not having time to complete it so the only thing that went in from the turbo kit I pieced together was the injectors. lol Now I parted out the kit and am trying to get rid of a few more things. I'm also planning on selling this car as well (after I get it to started and retuned) and going with the VIP style cars.
Thanks for your help! I wish I knew someone with a k20 setup in my neck of the woods so I can stick my ecu in theres and see if it works fine.

Try different battery first - that voltage - it's too bloody low ...
