K24A2 IGN/CAM/IDLE/TPS issues.

Post by Paul1985 »

K-Pro serial number:
KManager version: 1.3.5.4
Calibration: Stock 04-05 TSX in K-pro (only adjustments are IACV turned off and closed loop enabled). Wasnt too sure how to attach this one.
Datalog: Attached
Vehicle: EG
what sort of ECU you are using Came with hondata, i will need to check
Car Details: EG K24A2, RBC IM, K20A2 TB, Cutom Intake, DC Sports Headers, DC2 B-Pipe and resonators currently hooked up temporarily to keep quiet in garage. Everything else is stock.

First things first, i am unable to bleed the cooling system. Ive tryed all week. Car is extrememly high, had a funnel in the radiator. Thermostat doesnt seem to be opening, coolant pours out of the radiator neck and fills the funnel when it gets hot. I have a new koyo 1/2 size rad and a new thermostat. I tested the t/stat in a pot with boiling water and it opens. I cant seem to resolve this.

Secondly, I have the IACV disabled in K-Pro and the 2 ports looped/blocked off with some hose.
I have cracked the throttle plate open to about 2/3% With this datalog. I couldnt adjust the TPS sensor to read zero (even know its 2/3%) because it had special screws on it and its only going to ruin the TPS removing them.

When i adjust the TPS to about 4% open, the car idles smoothly, it just idles up around 3000RPM and the IGN is at about 30/40 degrees. I can get a datalog of this one if need be also.

I have no idea what to do now and whether running the car as is could damage my engine.

Any advice on what's wrong?

I think you've identified the problem areas yourself.

1. Check the cooling system has the bypass hose in the correct location (from the cylinder head outlet to the thermostat housing). The best place to bleed the cooling system from from the thermovalve near the bypass hose.

2. Why is the idle valve disabled? What sort of throttle body is this?

3. You can adjust the TPS from within the software without needing to remove the security screws.

If ur using the the Type S TB(WHat year?) You should have the IACV on.

Im doing the Same Swap in my DC5. I got a bare Type S Throttle Body(Because i have a base DC5). I Used a cutting disk to make a slit in the special screws so that i can use a flat head to remove them.
