Wiring For An Aftermarket Wideband (to datalog)

Post by wootihaveatypes »

Was curious on a couple of things...

I went to wire in an aftermarket wideband into the E15 ELD on the ecu and was curious to how people do this taking into account that the E15 reads electrical load for the entire car... and controls the alternator too correct? So wouldn't cutting this to run an aftermarket wideband make no sense or am I missing something? How do people do it? I feel like an idiot kinda.

The ECU does not use the ELD to control the alternator.

So by disregarding the ELD that's readin electrical load of the car... you lose what? Not that I really care, just curious more than anything.

Last question... if ur running off the external wideband input does lean cut and closed loop operation still function? Or do you have to be reading off the oem primary for that.

Those functions will only work with an OEM wideband.

I'm also trying to wire up my wideband to my ELD pin so I'm just going to latch on to your thread, hope you don't mind.

So, I have it connected and I verified I'm getting a good voltage reading out of the wideband module, however the ECU doesn't seem to see anything. With the car turned on and data logging the ELD value stays maxed out at 59.9 amps and I don't get any readings on any of the tables. Am I'm doing something obviously wrong?

Reading through the help file, it indicated that I needed to enable the ELD logging function within the calibration too under the Closed Loop tab on Parameters, but I don't have that check box there. Seems like that function was removed?

I do have the option enabled under the Settings on Wideband Input tab and selected PLX as the type. I can attach a KAL file if it will help, just didnt think there would be much to see.

Thanks,
J

Never mind me, mine is working fine. It just didnt display values in the low regions of the map, once I took it out and actually drove it, it populated just fine.

Love this product btw, works incredibly well.

Thanks,
