We recently just did a motor swap and ran into major issues with not being able

to start the car.


Current Setup:

2004 Honda Civic
2002 Honda Civic Si Motor (K20A3)
Greddy Bolt-On Turbo Kit for K20A3 Motor
Harness specifically made to work with this swap by Hasport
K-Pro Flashed ECU
KManager 1.3.4.0 software

k20a3-civic-440cc-greddy calibration

We unplugged the immobilizer to make the blinking green key to go away, and

after upload of the calibration the car still will not start.


Here is what I did in exact order with everything all plugged in:

Made sure that all software and USB drivers were updated
Plugged the ECU w/ the USB cable into the laptop
Opened KManager
Turned the car into ignition mode on
Clicked Online, then tools, then Erase ECU
Let the car sit for about 3 minutes with ignition off
Turned ignition back on
Clicked file, and opened the calibration file k20a3-civic-440cc-greddy
Made sure Immobilizer Enabled was unchecked
Clicked online, then upload
Upload was successful
Clicked on Datalog, and no errors were found

Attempted to start the car but ignition will not even fire, so at this point

this is where we are stuck at. Please please any help will definitely be

appreciated!!!!!

you unlugged the immobiliser? elaborate?

After uploading, you need to turn the key off then back on. Are you getting fuel and spark?

The immobilizer that we unplugged are two green plugs that plugged where you put the key, once we unplugged it the green blinking light went away.

We're getting fuel, but no spark, the car doesn't attempt to turn over either and we have no idea what's going on.

Some solutions that we might try is using a stock d17 ecu just to see if it'll crank over, but we have not done that yet.

I did not know we had to turn off the car after upload, so we will have to try that, do we have to take the key out too? or just make sure ignition is off?

I appreciate your guys's response and hopefully that info above helps with getting help starting our motor!!

Is the starter turning the engine over?

the started is not turning the engine over at all.

We tried the D17 ecu but no luck with that either, we have no idea.

Also some other info is that the swap we are doing is from an Automatic 2004 honda civic to the 2002 honda civic si k20a3 manual, so currnetly we have no plugged in the clutch sensor, not exactly sure on how to wire that but I think that might prevent it from working, since the car didn't originally have that.

I would suggest contacting Hasport at this time as this is not related to the ECU.

How is this not related to the Kpro if we can't get the map to work with the ECU?

The starter should turn witohout an ECU plugged in when you turn the ignition on and try to start the car.

check your grounds and underhood wiring. sounds like someone simply forgot something.

I would bet thats your problem. A bad or missing clutch switch will prevent a car from turning over. You can find the two wires that are supposed to go to it and connect them to see if that works, but i would suggest using the switch for everyday.

So we just got the clutch sensor plugged in but we ran into another issue. The car thinks it's in drive so it wont start, does anyone know where we can find the neutral safety switch on a 2004 civic ex?

yes hasport said we just needed to ground out the clutch cable and te neutral switch. thank you for letting us know to contact them! we are working on that right now, hope everything runs smoothly!
