PG7 ecu(86-89)Integra on a B16 Engine????

Okay here's a weird situation I came across. A friend of mine has a crx that has a b16 engine in it. He said it ran before but they took out the trans for a clutch job.

I was looking over some stuff on it just for the hell of it and came across that the ECU is PG7! Which means it's a 86-89 Integra ECU running a B16 vtec???? Is that possible or is something totally wrong here? I didn't do too much searching for a possible other ecu linked elsewhere yet nor do I know if he really took the car out and saw if there was drivability issues other than a slipping clutch.

Please correct my mind cause I didn't know that was possible or maybe he got gipped!

the only way i can think of it is if he is using Turbo edit program to tune it with 1 wire relay vtec. wouldnt run good if it was a stock ecu could get it into vtec with an rpm activated switch or something.
