Hi,

I'm Experience a problem with my Vtec since i installed my ECU-Hondata

I have a Civic Sir, canadian
engine B16A2
It came stock with the square ECu

I installed a US ECU with Hondata S300 and convertion Harness. Long time ago a friend of mine told me he had the same problem and he contacted The ECU provider and told him to solder 2 wires together. since SIr's use only one wire for Vtec or something.
But i have only D6 (Vtec pressure switch) and A4 Vtec solenoid is not wired in the Convertion harness.

Any idea where should i wire the A4 to main harnesS??

Or has anyone experience the same problem??

your feedback and comments are much appreciate it.

Thanks

the JDM engine do not have a VTEC pressure switch. so if your switching to a US ecu , it will look for it and not find it. just disable VTEC pressure switch in VTEC. they all have a VTS(vtec solenoid).

You will have to have a wire for the VTEC solenoid. You probably don't have a wire for VTEC pressure, in which case you will have to disable VTEC pressure in the vtec parameters.

im sorry i thought we were talking about a JDM swap , my bad. as far as a canadian SiR not having a solenoid wire , i live in canada and have worked on more than a few and i dont understand the problem your having. i have installed s300 in 2 cars in the last 3 weeks , one a 99 SiR and the other a 99 hatch with B20 swap. the SiR was plug and play with an OBD2B to OBD1 conversion harness. all US and canada DOHC vtec engines have a pressure switch and a solenoid wire. id say theres a problem with your conversion harness , at least 50% of the conversion harness's ive seen have issues. most are poorly made.

what kind of ecu is your s300?

Spunskter.

how do i wire my solenoid Vtec???

Cranny.

My ECU for S300 i have no idea i bought it with PMW components and ready for S300. i know it has this F011 and i saw that it has the Vtec components.

as you said i think there is a problem with my conversion harness. i rechecked and it only has one wire for the vtec and its the pressure switch. no solenoid so i think thats the problem i test droved it and in third it felt like chocking at vtect point i thought it was kicking in the vtec.

Since you have experience with the Sir. do you know how to wire the solenoid?? i think its A4 but where it goes on the car harness??

Thanks

If the harness is not made correctly, I recommend either returning it for one that is made correctly or just buying a new adapter harness.
