B18C with JRSC 8psi and std mods IHE
I new at this ECU thing so some of this my sound stupid!
I'm looking at getting a s200 But my problem is I never planned to get a ECU upgrade. So I went the adj fuel pressure route. I use 350cc injectors with a AEM FPR and a Cartech FMU. I run ~25psi at idle and ~80psi WOT This seems to work well. But I'm sure with the S200 and adj cam gears I can get more HP. But it seems 440's seem to be the size people use with this setup and they keep the fuel pressure around 40-50 psi anf change duty cycle to get the A/F correct.. thats great, but I don't want to spend the $ for 440cc injectors. Can I use my 350cc and FMU with the S200? Or I guess another way to ask this is, will I run lean at WOT with 350cc without using a FMU with the s200?
350cc injectors and a FMU w/S200?
80 PSI @ WOT is scary. I would seriously look into ditching the FMU and getting a setup that utilizes the normal fuel pressure range. You can use 350cc injectors with an S200...you can use any size injectors. What brand are your injectors? DSM injectors do not get along with Hondata, so if you're planning the hondata route and have DSM injectors, you'll need to get some different ones. If you tune properly, you should be fine using the 350's, but you'll only be able to extract so much HP before having to beef up your injectors.
Yea 80 psi is a little high at WOT. But with bigger cc injectors and a factory ECU I don't think I could get it to idle right. But that all changes with a s200! Anyway they are Venom injectors I had them custom sized to 350cc. One thing I found was on Accel's web site is how to figure out your equilvent flow rate at any givin psi. Square root of (new psi/old psi) * the old flow rate. In my case a 350cc injector will flow like 435cc at 68psi (I just picked 68 psi just for a number) Thats sounds like a solution for me. Does this sound right? but then I would be running 60 psi (AEM's FPR is a 1:1 riser) at idle that still may be to high
