Hi,
Is it possible to disable the knock sensor on the PW0-000 ECU?
Is the knock sensor used to trim timing throughout the entire map or is it only used part throttle when the engine is under a low load?
The reason i ask is that i am considering using this ECU on a D series engine, and if i fit the knock sensor i will have to move it do a different location as there is no provision for it to be mounted as it is normally on the B16's cylinder wall. I see a lot of LS/VTEC people moving knock sensors, but i don't know if there are any ill effects?
Thanks,
Mark

No, only on the OBDI ECUs.

Everywhere below 5000 rpm, full throttle and part throttle alike.
If at all posible change the vehicle wiring and distributor to OBDI and run a P28 ECU. If not you will need the knock sensor, which is only possible on the B16 engine block as the LS engine does not have the mouting point for the knock sensor. Also the OBD0 ECU will only run closed loop if you have the correct JDM header, with two o2 sensors.

I've converted from obd0 (crap) to obd1...it's the best thing i've ever done to my car. How's the conversion pinout..everyone using obd0..especially pr3/pw0 needs to do themselves a favor and upgrade..feel free to use it...skip paying 200 for a harness, DIY.

You'll need a heated o2,obd1 distributer, male obd1 plugs and ECU.
