Sort of vehicle i have and modifications: 2002 civic. D17a1 with vtec head swap w/crower stage 2 cam. RDX 410cc injectors, T3 super 60 turbo/intercooled. All stock sensors. return fuel conversion with aeromotive FPR set to stock pressure ~43-44psi. walbro high flow pump. stock block.
ECU: Kpro w/required cam gear.
Problem: So Ive had this problem since last year. When my car sits in freezing weather overnight, it will not start the following morning. it'll crank and backfire and sound like it wants to start, but wont. Last year I just setup my remote start to autostart it overnight every few hours. The car will otherwise run flawlessly. It will hiccup occassionally with hot restarts, but nothing serious. It'll start fine the rest of the year, and even now, freezing temps, if i get some help i can simply push start it. Im getting the impression that it's flooding. because when I DO get it started it stumbles and sputters and i get a pretty big cloud of black smoke. Ive tried adjusting the cranking fuel trim to no avail. It seemed to get a little better when it was set to -60, so I adjusted the fuel map accordingly. I have two buddies that live in my area with very similar setups in their cars and they dont have this problem. Infact my base map came from one of them. it doesnt really get below 10 degrees around here, and no one i know uses a block heater, but im seriously debating getting one if i cant solve this problem. any input? havent been able to datalog since this is a starting, not running, problem.
