97 prelude sh

Post by jimbofury »

So I'm swapping the engine in my prelude with a 97 H22A4 engine with low miles. I was thinking about getting Hondata but I'm not exactly sure what I need. Do I just need a conversion harness and buy a P72 ECU? I'm really confused about all that stuff. I want to get the s300 for my prelude but don't know what else I need. Also I was wondering how easy is it to use the program for my computer? How would I know to change the settings to what they should be for what I want?

Also I have quite a few bolt ons and in the future I plan on putting a turbo and having the engine rebuilt with upgraded internals. Should I wait for Hondata or will it help me out now also?

To use a Hondata system, you will need to use a compatible OBD1 ecu from the list at http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html. You can then use the Hondata s100 or s300 depending on what options you want (http://www.hondata.com/sproducts.html). I would recommend the s300.

You can download Smanager from the website and see how everything works. Getting the Hondata now will allow you to learn to tune with just the basic bolt-ons and then when you get the turbo you will know exactly how to use everything.

ok so i looked some things up. if i buy a P28 ECU with the OBD-II connector from Hondata and have them socket the s300 to it. I just hook it up and go get it tuned right? i was also thinking bout buying the MAP 4 bar sensor and the TPS sensor but dunno if i would need them. also i have no idea what the boost control solenoid does but was prolly gonna get that too. I can have Hondata set it all up and i just plug it all in and get it tuned from a hondata dealer right?

If your TPS sensor is ok then there is no need to replace it. Any Hondata dealer should then be able to help you tune the car.
