cranny... need yer help again with JDM tune

Post by HELLRAZR »

a buddy of mine just got his car k-pro'ed. so i gave him my map (which is tuned for a jdm dc5 k20a with CAI and 3" exhaust on an ep).

his car is running way too rich, knock isn't the issue, it's just way too much gas which is understandable cause he has a euro CTR with a JDM k20a ep3 swap, stock intake and stock exhaust piping, super sprint back box, dc 4-2-1 header.

so i had him datalog a 4th gear run in open loop.

thanks in advance.

here you go. you need to do a longer datalog , and drive normal , lol. steady throttle , your on and off the throttle like its a sexy woman , lol. make sure its in open loop. and vary driving conditions. and somewheres along the way , get another one of those 4th gear pulls in there. great datalogs with long pulls like that.

so to recap

open loop
long datalog
a 4th gear pull just like before in it
the rest normal driving , use all the gears , lug the car , let it rev up in each gear , vary driving conditions.

and tell your buddy i wasnt done tuning his car either.

and when im done with both your guys's cars , your best bet after that would be take it to someone that is good at tuning and has access to a dyno to get the most out of your cars. ignition tuning and such.

hey i was on my way to uni today, and i had my laptop with me. so i dataloged, its not a great one but i thought it wont be too useless. i'll include a 4th to redline datalog tomorrow. oh and i noticed something that isnt in the datalog, 6th gear 200 km/h at around 6k rpm, there are LOTS of knocks.

here buddy , load this on and do another one for me. your datalogs are next to useless for wide open throttle tuning buddy. its just too random. get the car in 3rd gear , or 4th if you like and can get going that fast without causing yourself trouble. get in 3rd or 4th at 2500 rpm , and floor it and dont let off till redline. thats the only way , what you gave me is useless.

and by the way , you should NOT hold your throttle at like 20% or quarter peddle till redline , its not good for the car and does nothing for you.

so a 20 or so minute datalog , vary driving conditions between 1500 and 4500 rpm , different gears and throttle and load , hills so on. and somewheres in this datalog , a 3rd or 4th gear pull from 2500 rpm to redline.

is it ok if i do two datalogs? one with varied driving conditions, and one with the full throttle-redline? because where i drive normally and where i can do that full throttle datalog are a bit far... and again cranny, thank you.
