Need help on decided which ecu to socket....

Post by stupidjunior »

I just purchased the S300 and have 3 ECUs available to me to socket.

I have a 92-95 Civic DX, 94 Integra LS, and 97 Integra Type R. Does it make a difference which ECU i pick? I am running a JDM B20 right now, but want to leave the option for in the future for adding a B16a head. If thats the case, should I use my ITR ECU?

If your 97 ITR ECU is OBD2 style (which it probably is), you cannot use it for the S300. You must use an OBD1 style ECU. There would be no difference between using the Civic or the 94 Integra ECU from a functionality point of view. The only advantage is that the 94 ECU could possibly already have the components necessary for the boost solenoid control feature that is now part of the S300.

To use a Hondata system, you will need to use a compatible OBD1 ecu from the list at http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html
