Hi,

I've read the help manual with K manager, and searched the forum as best I can, but I have not yet managed to grasp the purpose of the TPS Ignition Retard feature in the Gear Comp section of parameters.

If someone would explain the purpose, and the effect it has, that would be most appreciated.

It is for ignition retard from throttle tip in. The help file does explain that. It would be best to not change it if you don't fully understand how it works. Factory settings are usually best for things like that.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't plan to change it, just wanted to understand what it is doing.

This is all I saw in the manual: "The amount of ignition retard from throttle tip in can be adjusted by gear. A value of -100% is minimum retard; a value of 0 of higher is more ignition retard. "

Is there more I've missed?

What I was wondering is what that means (Throttle tip in, is not a term I've encountered before). Is it effectively retarding the timing as a product of throttle movement, so as to soften the engine's response to clumsy throttle movement? Dulling the responsiveness to aid driveability?

yesterday I've set the retards to -50% on each gear.
The car's become smooth and the lag on WOT @1000-2000 RPM disappeared.
