Better security options

Post by drumnatural »

So as you all know the K20 is becoming all the rage to swap into civcs. The RSX is slowly but surely turning into the next Integra as for being stolen.

What are the chances of you guys(hondata) being able to add more security options to kpro/kmanager?

What kind of thing do you mean mate?

ECU's are easily swapped in minutes so doubt anything Hondata could do to Kpro would help much on that front.

a garage, dont leave your keys in it, dont let it idle unattended, lol...

seriously though if I am reading your question right, it seems like your worried bout theft, nothing Hondata can do I dont think.

Just like fonz said. The ecu's are swapped in minutes. I'm not going into details but a Kpro'ed ecu is what is turning the RSX into the Integra and Civic.

Since Hondata created it maybe they can do something to better protect it's customers.

Ah right, I get what you mean a little.

The RSX is getting stolen purely for the Kpro'd ECU which could then get sold on or used in another car.

Is that what you mean?

Entire cars are getting stolen and stripped bare. Kpro is being used to do so. Think about it. I don't want to post how it is done.

Ok think I know what you mean now.

Kpro'd ECU gets fitted into a targeted car as it can override eh... stuff blah blah blah

Yeah?

Mmm.... Guessing their answer would be to buy a good alarm with built in immobilizer for extra protection is a good idea regardless what car you own.

I dunno, unless I'm reading you wrong. You can PM me if you like. I'm from UK so it's not common here.

I think he means the thief carries a Kpro'd ECU with them to plug into the targeted RSX.
