boost control/ boost by gear questions

my goal is to use the boost by gear. I am looking for the same boost pressure in 1st, 2nd, 3rd then increasing the boost for 4th then 5th. I would want 15lbs, 15lbs, 15lbs, 20lbs, 25lbs.

I am going to try the s300 boost control on the dyno. I have the hondata solenoid. It is normally closed. so I will check the box "maximum boost at 100% duty/ normally closed" right?

I will take a base run and record the boost then check "fixed duty cycle" and set to 0, then take another pull.

from there I will increase the duty cycle and record the boost. am I on the right track?

question. solenoid activation pressure, I assume that is when the solenoid starts working? when should I be activating the solenoid? just thinking about it, shouldn't I want the solenoid activating at 1 psi?

question. pressure vs duty cycle. the pre-set settings. the first column says: pressure 135.0, duty % 25.0. I understand 25.0 is the duty cycle percentage, what is 135.0 represent? I guess I dont know how I will obtain the info to fill the 8 columns there. do I take dyno passes in the listed duty cycles and replace the pressure with the boost pressure I achieve? is that not psi units? I am lost with that section.

question. low / high boost. is that the section used for switching between 2 boost tables. I read you could do a pump gas / race gas. is that where this is done? if I only want to use 1 table, which would I enter my desired boost levels in? which is the default. low or high.

Thanks.

Please read the Smanager help file. Go to Help, Contents, and search for "boost control parameters". This should help you understand how it all works.

perfect, that was the help file I was looking for. I did search the help file, but some how missed it.

one more question.

pressure vs duty cycle. do I make dyno passes at the 25, 35, 45, 50, 55, 65, 75, 85% increments listed or do I make up my own increments?

if I only want to make 20psi max and use the increments listed already, and say I reach that 20psi at 65% duty. what would I do in the last 2 columns? carry that 65% over into the last two?

and on the boost vs rpm vs gear, which table is the default, boost low or boost high. sense I am not going to switch, which table will I use?

thanks.

You must set up the table to your needs.

Low is Default

That answer is not very helpful. I figured it out though.
