KPro stopped working. Urgent!

Hello,

The MIL (Check Engine Light) flashed for a few seconds while I was parking and I connected my laptop to see the error.

The KManager was On Line but the Ignition was OFF although it was switched ON.

I opened the ECU case to check the LED status. When I switched the ignition ON, the green LED was OFF and the red LED was ON (I saw a very weak red light).

I also noticed that the largest chip on the KPro board gets so hot that I could hardly touch it when I switch the ignition ON. There is no visual sign or smell that is has been burnt.

Now the engine is running but the MIL turns ON for a few minutes and OFF for a few seconds then back ON for a few minutes all the time.

I am at my summer house, in other words in the middle of nowhere and there is no Honda service arround me. The nearest FedEx office is 50 KM away. There is a long and hard way ahead of me so I have to get my car working as soon as possible.

Please advice,

Kind Regards.

You will need to contact your dealer for them to trouble shoot and if need be replace the K-Pro board. If it needs to be replaced there are charges for that.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I purchased the KPro a month ago and I started facing some issues from the beginning. First the KPro / KManager was not able to set the calibration version. (http://www.hondata.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8272), now it is not functioning at all.

I hope there is some kind of warranty covering my issues.

I will not be able to use my car for 3-4 days.
I will send my ECU to CPL Racing and they will send it back. Costs $120
If my ECU is damaged somehow they will replace it. Costs $500
If the KPro needs to be replaced I will be charged for that too. Costs $???

I don't blame CPL racing, they are very nice people and have a great knowledge but I gave them my fully functional ECU, they installed the KPro and now my ECU turned into a piece of rock.

Is there any warranty that will replace my KPro board or are we alone after purchasing Hondata products?

See my post on July 24 about sending the KPro in for testing.

For the moment take out the KPro to get home - you'll have a 4000 rpm limiter. Contact CPL about checking the KPro & ECU.

I ordered another KPro with a spare ECU, installed there and drove home.(Thanks to CPL Racing they processed and shipped my order very quickly.)

I will send my KPro and ECU to CPL tomorrow.

I would like to thank Hondata and CPL Racing for their support.

My issue has been solved a few weeks ago and I didn't have a chance to thank them.

I saw that, we are not alone after purchasing Hondata products.

Regards.
