Smanager & speed-sensor issue - reading incorrect VSS sp

Post by OTT »

Vehicle: 1998 Honda CIvic Type-R EK9, Turbocharged fully-built B16a, Gm solenoid for boost control!

vehicle is a japanese import and I have fitted a speed converter just above the vss connector to convert the speed signal from KPH to MPH

When Im doing 40mph its reading approx 20-25mph

Is there a way of reclibrating this sensor signal via Hondata?

my concern is the fact it thinks im in a lower gear than I am! and Id really like to have this setup ready for a competition next weekend.

Thanks

You should not use a converter. All transmissions produce the same 4 pulse per wheel revolution signal. You just need to use a Cluster that reads in MPH for that vehicle.

i think im going to move the converter to after the ecu splice. I cant get rid of the EK9 dash, dude its too nice to switch-out like carbon fibre effect.
