S200b Small Chip? Is it required?

just wanted to know about the small chip that came with the Hondat. I know the spot that they ask you to solder it, however I have a Chipped P28 that has another chip in it's spot. Does that chip contain any information? Or does the EEprom contain all the information needed so I don't have to replace the smaller chip that's there already?

if the ecu was chipped already...

i think the small chip should already be a 74hc somthin or other.. and it's all good.. mine was chipped with a generic chip at first, then i went hondata and the one that came with the generic chip worked fine.
