New to K-Pro; Backed up calibration; Car won't start

Post by habitforming »

I recently bought a 05 RSX-S with K-Pro. When I hooked up laptop for the first time, it showed the P0134 DTC (A/F sensor signal stuck lean). The software also said the calibration was out of date (v 1.4.4.2) and needed updated.

At this time, I was unable to download any of my calibration info, due to being out of date.

So, I had to create a new calibration. I used "K20A2 with Intrinsic Performance K2 cams, header, exhaust, CAI." I did not upload this calibration to the ECU.

Then, I used "download" to download the existing calibration from the ECU. It warned me about the calibration being out of date, which I accepted, and it proceeded with the download. I saved this calibration to the computer.

Then, I tried to troubleshoot the A/F issue. It is worth noting, A/F wasn't providing any data, and neither was O2 voltage. O2 current showed 43 mA and steady. Inside of Parameters, Closed Loop the "Closed Loop" option was unchecked, and "Disable P1167" was checked.

I unchecked "Disable P1167" and uploaded to the ECU. When I tried to restart the car, it wouldn't catch. Fires for a split second and then dies. So I changed the setting back, uploaded again, and still, the car won't run.

I was able to get the car idling on a different calibration "RSX-S with Crower Stage II cams, toda header, engine intake & exhaust, PRB intake manifold". I'm not comfortable driving on this however, as the cam advance is different from my original calibration.

Notable modifications to engine:
- Skunk2 cams
- PRB intake manifold
- comptech header
- cat delete
- stock exhaust
- Injen CAI

Right now I'm just trying to understand why the engine won't idle anymore. Any help anyone can provide is greatly aprpeciated. Once I cross that hurdle, the next question is, is my wideband O2 bad...

THANK YOU!!!!

Fair enough, should've read the rules...

Anyway, I found some help on another board. Apparently you should switch ignition off before running car on uploaded calibration. So, I guess I forgot to do that, which somehow prevented the car from running. Later in the day when I loaded the factory calibration, it ran as it had before.

The bad news, however, is that the car has been running in forced open loop and with a bad O2 sensor for I have no idea how long. Hope there's not any problems as a result of this...

Feel free to close the thread, my original question was answered.
