D16 to B16A2 swap ( 1999-2000 EK Civic) EX to Si distributor

Post by tomtoofast »

:? Hi Tom here and more than a little :( . I am in the middle of the above engine swap. First I purchased a "complete" B16A2 engine, however it did not have a wiring harness, distributor, or any other accessories. After running down the correct mounts, distributor, half shafts, axle, flywheel, clutch assembly, and an Integra RS transmission, I thought I was ready to complete the swap. Two days later I have also acquired a alternator and bracket, a starter, power steering pump and bracket, and AC compressor and bracket, but still am not ready to start the car. The original D16 harness has an 8 pin rectangular connector and the B16 distributor has a 10 pin (9 wire) square connector. I need a jumper harness male 8 pin to female 10 pin connector. I have seen the exact harness I need on the factory JDM type R motors. I can easily make one up, if can get the 8 pin male and 10 pin female plug ends and pins. I would like to find the adapter harness, or the components to make one, or an engine harness with the correct B16A2 10 pin distributor harness. Thanks, Tom
Tomtoofast is an oxymoron, i. e. there is no such thing as too fast!!! Definitely not for Tom!!! I have tried to go as fast as possible on my feet, on my bike, and in nearly every kind of car or truck I have ever owned or worked on.

For something like this you should contact Hasport. We do not do anything with engine harnesses here.

:D , Yes I am very happy, the civic runs!!! I got a distributor adapter harness from Rywire.com to solve the 8 pin to 10 pin dilemma. I had to use an OBD1 P 28 ecuwith a chip tuned to my car for it to run. I could have used an original B16 engine wiring harness and ecu from 1999-2000. I'd like to know what would work best in my car? If anyone knows more about this let me know. Thanks, Tom
