question on "closed loop" hesitation at partial th

Post by c17r15 »

hi,
I have a question concerning article http://www.hondata.com/techo2problem.html

I have a b16a2 in a 96 DX, with a obd2-1 plug and is running a obd1 p28.
I am experiencing the hesitation problem described in the article, engine missing around 3000 under partial throttle. I am running without a cat so I only have 1 o2 sensor hooked up, the other plug is just left unplugged.

In the article it says the engine may be missing from getting the same readings from the 2 o2 sensors, is this so for the p28 also? I am thinking about splicing the o2 sensor into both plugs for about a couple of months before going turbo/hondata.

thank you very much.

The article at http://www.hondata.com/techo2problem.html only applies to PW0/PR3 ECUs. Your problem is different.

In most cases hesitation problems like the one you have described are caused by too little part throttle ignition advance, and fuel tables which are too rich. Here's a tech article on this problem http://www.hondata.com/techpartthrottle.html
