K20A powered trackday EG, datalog inside, PLEASE HELP!

Post by Rallyeman »

Greetings from Greece!

I am a proud owner of a EG civic , k20A ITR engne, rcrew 4-2-1header, 3inch exhaust-no cat, aem intake (the one ending in front of the right wheel) and i am running 100octane pump gas. (yes 100octane can be found easily in Greece)

As soon as i finished my swap, i faced a strange problem.RPM were dropping all the time, no matter how much i was pressing gas pedal or how steady.. So if you pressed the gas pedal until the rpms reach for example 4000rpm and hold it steady, rpms were dropping and then coming up again all the time. Up-->down--->up....etc.
I couldnt move the car...
Fuel pressure was steady at ~44psi, and no errors coming up to the kmanager. I have a brand new O2 sensor (primary) , no secondary, k20aITR.cal loaded, multiplexer disabled.

I tryed unplugging injector clips and reinstalling them again and i also changed my fuel pressure to 45+ psi and the problem almost solved.
Now i only have this rpm dropping around 2000rpm, no matter what gear.

I only see the INJ (ms) going zero and then the A/F going to 30:1 when i am around 1500-2500rpm... The engine sounds really strange (like it runs on 3 cylinders) and the car bogs and sputters for some seconds, but this thing vanishes after ~2000rpm...So if you start the car fast with high-rpm launch, you wont feel the problem at all.It revs fine..
Drive in the city on low rpm and you'll see this happening all the time.

Here is a datalog . Please check this for me as i am not familiar with Kmanager..and here in Greece i cant trust no one!

EDIT: I will post a small datalog soon-Thanks!

I've been told maybe its my MAP or TPS sensor..Anyone see a malfunction there?

Thanks,
Orfeas

Please post your calibration and a short datalog showing the problem. Please do not link to other websites to download the file. What ecu are you using as well (code on the side)?

Ok,
i calibrated TPS and that solved 99% of the problem..

The a/f goes off when i release the gas and the rpms drops for idling,
is this normal?

Here are two short datalogs.

I also need you to tell me if everything seems fine when i am in full throttle, so i also include a full throttle pul in 3rd gear,

Thanks!

Based on the fact that this is a engine swap and that the O2 sensor is not part of the engine harness I would suspect you have aa wiring problem with the o2 sensor. Who did your harness? Also where did the O2 sensor you are using come from?

I am using Hybrid Racing Race Harness which ia actually a stand-alone harness for use in any car..It has all the relays needed to swap the K20 to anything.. Fuel pump relay, o2 relay, anything! :?

The o2 sensor is a brand new DENSO.

I am curius, why do you think my o2 is not working?
One the three calibrations i uploaded on the previous post,
you can clearly see that the 02 is working...

Sorry, I had just looked at another datalog that had the ELD input set for the wideband and hadn't changed it back.

The datalogs look relatively normal.

Thats great to hear since the 3rd gear full throttle would tell if something's wrong...

Thank you..!
