reflashed ecu swap from 06 TSX to 07/08 TSX

Post by xjohnkdoex »

hi, i've been reading about claims that swapping a reflashed ecu and its paired immobilizer from a 2006 TSX into a 2007/2008 TSX will work (although this person has not provided any hard evidence). rather than speculate on the issue, i figure i'd ask the authority on the matter.

can this be swap be done? i was under the impression it cannot because the part #s for those respective ecu years changed, indicating that that ecu's have changed internally.

thanks.

We have not tried this. There are differences between the 06 and 07 - it does not seem like a good idea.

had another question if you're willing to entertain it--in another thread, someone asked if k-pro would ever be released for the 08 civic Si. spunkster responded saying that there is no k-pro and there will be no k-pro for 06+ civic Si's going forward, but hondata was looking into other engine management options.

are the reasons for not having k-pro for the 06+ civic Si's the same for all 1st gen TSX's? and if there will never be a k-pro option for TSX's, are the 'other options' also being looked into for TSX's? or is the ecu reflash still the best option, and potential option particularly for 07/08 owners if it were to be come available?

thanks!

What about it specifically does not seem like a good idea? I have an '06 ECU (RBB-A05) here and I'm probably going to try it unless there is some serious technical difference.
