USB-Cannot start this device (Code 10)

I have a 2005 RSX base, and recently purchased a K-Pro'd ECU. I have the stock calibration loaded on it, and left my car for 2 weeks without driving it. Yesterday, when I had time to load a new calibration, I opened kmanager, updated to 1.2.3.5, updated USB drivers, but when I tested the drivers, it said they didnt work. I tried reinstaling the drivers and the entire Kmanager software, but every time when the device manager would finish installing the drivers, instead of saying "your device is ready to use" or something of the sort, it always says Cannot start this device and gives (Code 10).
In KManager, when I test the USB from the help menu, it says "Incorrect PID" and tells me to update the USB drivers, so i click update, and it tries to update, it fails to update, then gives me a list of things to do. ie...uninstalling all the drivers, reinstalling them...etc. I have tried everything it said, and still nothing.
Any ideas?
edit: PID=6001

I posted the question on ClubRSX as well, and a member had me do this.
I worked as far as getting the drivers successfully installed.
1. remove the ECU from the car.
2. plug in the ECU to your laptop, see if the ECU shows up in your control panel/system/device manager
3. if it does, uninstall the device. restart the laptop , unplug the USB to the ECU before it restarts.
4. uninstall the KManager software, restart the computer.
5. install the Kmanager software first.
6. plug the ECU into the laptop, the computer should detect it and then point it at the KManager folder and install the drivers.
7. install the ECU into the car, turn the ignition to II, clear security
8. you should be okay from there.
But now when i open kmanager, it still says off line.
and i tried updating the usb drivers through the help menu, and it did some stuff, and said they had been updated,
but when i tested the usb device, it said that it failed, because of an unrecognized PID.
what does that mean?

You may have to install the USB drivers manually at this point.

If you open up the Help section from SManager, type "USB" Into search tab. You should see "Install USB Drivers" on the list. Click that title and there are instructions on how to install them manually there. The old ones have to be un-installed first for this to work.

well rolling back the entire computer worked. only problem is, my temp gauge still doesn't work, because of the multiplexor problem in KManag. ver. 1.2.3.4
but i'm afraid to update it.
and also, i noticed that when i plug in the laptop to the ac outlet to charge, if it is connected to my ecu, it goes offline and doesn't recognize it.
hmmm...

also determined that the power supply for the laptop is faulty.
the touch mouse stops working when the laptop gets plugged in.
switched to a different supply, and it works fine. everything seems to be in working order.
