I have a 2008 accord manual. I have a serious problem with the car acceleration. It seems to be extremely weak most of the time and will have extreme changes in acceleration.
Also if I am cruising for a least a few seconds and pull off the throttle slightly (to slow down because person in front of me is) the car will begin to accelerate, so I have to practically pull off the throttle completely.
I am also having problems shifting smoothly. My old civic with a ITR drivetrain is far easier to shift than this pig. I would say I could just suck at shifting except that I have been careful to RPM match, release the clutch slowly and allow all kinds of clutch wear. But once the clutch engages I get back into it and all i get is a bogg and my passengers head flying forward. Also it backfired a few times during shifts (right when I get back on it). The clutch has two switches on it, which i am guessing inform the car when i am reengaging or disengaging the clutch.... badly.
I was told by the great and wise honda service manager that all hondas with throttle by wire have this problem and that my car is just an overly exaggerated version of every honda. please just let me know if you are experiencing this and what the service techs did to fix it (if they did anything)

wow. wouldnt expect problems out've an '08 honda. i wouldnt expect it to shift as good as an itr tranny at any rate. have you modified the car in any way? it shouldnt be backfiring... ive had my integra for 10 years and have toyed with all kinds of timing curves and have yet to make it backfire. im assuming your timing is not mechanically adjustable. it def. sounds like a timing issue because of the backfiring.
