What exactly does the TPS ignition retard do?
For how long does it retard the ignition?
What are the effects of changing the value, as in going more neg or more positive?

The amount of ignition retard from throttle tip in can be adjusted by gear. A value of -100% is minimum retard; a value of 0 of higher is more ignition retard.

It varies based on starting throttle, throttle opening rate, rpm, air temperature, coolant temperature and also the VE tables. About 50 ms would be typical.
