TPS problem

Post by rjmcalister »

Any ideas why the TPS would drop to zero while at constant throttle or when I lift off the throttle ( I know it should if I lift of the throttle totally but mine is going to zero if I just back off the throttle slightly). Everything will run OK after the car has gotten to full temp.

You may have a wiring problem or you may have a bad ground. Pay close attention to the ground on the thermostat housing. It is also possible it is a faulty TPS sensor. The best thing to do is use the process of elimination. Test different compnents in a known good vehicle.
