Vtec engagement points & Tip in

I just got back from the dyno with the Accord and the Hondata work flawlessly. We were able to get the car tuned really well but I had a couple questions regarding tip in mainly. What are the max negative tip in values that I can set?

The issue is when shifting at full speed the engine experiences a rich condition (11.0 AFR) for a moment which causes a bog then it picks up. I tried setting tip in to -15% but it didnt help much.

Also, is there a way to set VTEC at a lower rpm once it has been engaged? My concern is in between shifts I find that it drops out of VTEC and I need an extra 300rpm to keep it engaged. But changing my engagement point any lower than 5700 is not ideal for hp. We tried 5400rpm and there was a big dip in the dyno chart. Hope that makes sense.

I tried the VTEC boundaries but that wasnt the function I am looking for.

There are no other options for VTEC. There is no difference form you accelerating from a stop and engaging vtec and shifting and engaging vtec. YOu either need to change your gearing or rev the engine higher.

The bogging sounds like a tuning issue.

Thanks.

Care to explain what you mean by tuning issue? The engine has been tuned to 13.2-13.5 at WOT, I dont get how tuning could be a problem?

Tuning full thorttle is only one aspect of tuning. PArt throttle needs to be tuned as well as making sure that there are no driveability problems. I would contact the tuner and have them go over what they have done and show them what it is doing.
