a couple s300 requests for a SPFWD racecar

Post by turbo-charged »

ive played with a few systems on my car (electromotive, aem, etc) and switched over to S300 this year. we use s300 in tons of cars here and seem to have 5-6 customers switch from aem to s300 now that i made the change.

anyways......i'd like to make a request for a couple (what i think would be pretty simple) software changes.

1) we do 3rd gear burn outs, which takes a good bit of either boost or rpm to get the tires going. generally, the anti-lag settings that will work well for the burn out, also work too well for a burn out when leaving the line haha. the available parameters for the anti-lag work great for the burn out, and also how i leave the line......the problem is i need 2 settings.

is there any way we could have 2 sets of antilag parameters.....say we can use a momentary button to trigger an input on the ecu to activate the "burn out" anti-lag......and with out the input active, it would work just the way that it works now?

2) i use the full throttle shift, probably a little differently than intended, but it is activated through a custom adjustable clutch switch. again the problem here is that this is active when i have the clutch pressed in for the launch and the burn out, which presents a problem. my request here is simply having the full throttle shift input not be active until a certain VSS value is reached.

i know i can use an output from the ecu to activate one side of the clutch switch based off of a set conditions.....but doing it through the software with out having to add a relay and modify the harness more would be much easier.

so far im very happy with the s300 on the racecar.......the first pass in the new car was a 9.71&154 with out the antilag working, bogging, and spinning like crazy down the track......so it looks pretty promising!

1. Use a switched input to disable launch control for the burn out, and add a nitrous output using the same switched input but inverted to retard timing / add fuel.

2. The speed under launch control determines when full throttle shift is active.

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense at first.

i guess i can give that a shot and see how it works out. this may be a stupid question.....but looking at the nitrous fuel and ignition compensation----- at a given RPM, if i was to enter the same values there as the antilag settings, would it do the same thing? another words are the values entered what they are, or are they added/subtracted from the fuel/ignition tables? its been a while since ive used the nitrous tables.

just looked and thought about it some more......it seems like thats going to make everything rather "busy"..... i really dont want to over complicate it....especially since i have a few customers who are interested in something similar, but i'd much rather have that option while keeping it much less complex. triggering an input that would trigger the "burn out" settings would be MUCH NICER. is this something that could possibly happen in the future?

2. The speed under launch control determines when full throttle shift is active.

thats awesome, and exactly what i wanted.....however it doesnt appear to be working. with the clutch switch disabled the antilag works perfectly. with the FTS enabled its acting as if the FTS is active rather than the antilag. i guess i will have to give it a shot, i have the disabling mph pretty low, i'll try to raise it up a hair and see if that helps.
