my question is what is a map relocator? i just install a jrsc and hondata s300 ecu and i didn't install the jrsc fuel enrichment relay system because i'm using hondata. when i gun my gas pedal it will sound like something is bogging kinda of like backfire. can it be that i need a map relocator, i'm confuse witht his instruction, please help. thanks in advance.
I found this instruction under installing hondata on JRSC .
Install the map relocator on the throttle body where the map sensor was originally located. If this is not done, the map sensor will only see atmospheric pressure and will run dangerously lean
hondata installation on JRSC map relocator ?
A MAP Relocator is an adapter that fits between the throttle body and the OEM MAP Sensor. This allows the use of forced induction with the OEM MAP Sensor up to approximately 10 - 11 PSI.
If your JRSC is producing close to 10 PSI or more, it is safer and less problematic driving and for tuning purposes to purchase a replacement MAP Sensor that reads higher boost pressure.
I bought a MAP Relocator but never ended up using it with the Hondata because my setup is running 13 PSI and I used a Motec MAP Sensor. It was very easy to connect to factory wiring harness as there are only three color coded wires and good instructions.
There are numerous MAP Sensors that the Hondata S300 is compatable with, but I highly suggest using one listed in the program itself. It will make setting the perameters very easy. I dont have access to my Hondata program right now to list which ones are compatable.
