Fix for 05-06 Kpro on de-accel Buckling on low-speeds....

Post by Axix23 »

I may have found a cure for the 05-06 Kpro buckling at low speeds on deacceleration... In k-manger, under the closed loop parameter, there is a little box that says "disable fuel over-run cutoff delay" Since I been tuned, i had this box checked and Its supposed to reduce the buckling and hesitation between shifts and etc, but it still did it sometimes.. So, last week, I unclicked it and left the box blank... Magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more buckling on deacceleration and all... Any ideas why this is? Nothing else was done to my car, so it isn't something else...

With the delay disabled, the fuel cut turns on as soon as all the parameters are met. With the delay enabled, it will delay around .5 sec until it cuts fuel. So if a parameter (usually MAP) is fluctuating right around the on/off point, the delay eliminates the fuel cut also fluctuating on and off. It will wait until .5 sec after all the conditions are met to cut the fuel, so if it is fluctuating, it will not cut the fuel until things stabilize.

AFAIK this is the whole purpose of the delay. It could also be to prevent cut fuel during shifts.

Is the buckling you describe like a cyclical hesitation when easing off the throttle so that you are only barely touching the gas pedal?
I've noticed something like that usually in 1st-3rd gears.
