Total NEWBEE question

Ok, I got my new S200 ... a P28 ECU that was converted by Hondata to run in an OBDII car .. I got the Honda Logger software ... I got the programer ... and I got the RomEditor program ...

My dealer created a special base for me ... the engine is a 2000 model B16B stuck into a '97 EX Coupe ... anyway ... aside from all that ... my question is ....

How do I load the base map that is in the ECU now into the editor program to make changes and then back to the ROM ?

Do I take the ROM out of the ECU and put it into the PocketProgramer to pull the map out, then make changes to it ?

I noticed the RomEditor program has a Logging funtion built into it ?
If it does a Logging function, why do I need the HondaLogger software ?

I have not had the chance to actually use the editor program, or the Logger program .. My dealer forgot to supply me with a key to unlock the ECU.... but thats a different issue that I am going to get worked out ...

I am just a little confused about how the editor program actually works ....

Sorry for the stupid questions  ... Just need a little help getting started ...
Thanks !

put the ROM into the programmer, then fire up that software, then use the "move device" function to pull the .bin file into your computer. then open it in romeditor and make changes.
