Display error wont let me use display or SManager....

Post by HONDA GHANDI »

When setting up my display I was setting up a bar graph for my AF and I get a "Floating point division by zero" error message. It will keep repeating this error about every second until I close the program or it freezes up my computer. If I can manage to close the error windows fast enough to close the display box I can use the SManger but as soon as I open the display window again it will error out again. Any hints on loading a new display so I can start over without opening up the display again?

My folder does not have a templates.ini file. Anywhere else this would be stored? (windows Vista OS)

FWIW, I can uninstall Smanager and reinstall it and it still doesnt work. I managed to delete the bar graph that is causing the issues, while the error messages are in between windows. I just have to make a mental note not to use AF for any gauges again until there is a fix.

All you need to do is go to C:>Programs files>SManager and delete default.display.

After you do that. just start up SManager again and it will go back to it's default display.

there is no default.display file either.

edit* found it. You have to click the "comapibility files" button on the top of the folder. Stupid Vista making everything so convenient to use.

that works, but I lost all of my work. :(

glad to hear it. if you just delete it should be good to go. If it doesn't let me know.

edit. The default.display is just the default/last display you had open. but if you saved the display configuration by using the save as option it will make other copy of it as what ever you named it. However if you try to load it you will just run into the same error again. At this point the a/f graph error is one that should be avoided. till it is fixed. I have sometimes been able to recover them by deleting it a/f before the error pops up. then all you'll have to do is delete the default.display again and reload you custom display.
