Low voltage problems but battery seems ok ?

Post by bigmouk »

Had the KPro on for approx 6 months now. Car is 2 years old and is standard in every way except for an induction kit. Battery has not been relocated. About 2 weeks ago the engine light came on with the low voltage on crank daughter board error. After some initial investigations I reset the code. The same error came back on Saturday with the same error (so approx 2 weeks without a problem).

I did a load test while the car was running and it was showing 14.1v with nothing on and then 13.7v with everything on (lights, wipers, a/c, heated screen, ect..)

Saturday night before it went in the garage i took a reading and it was at 12.4v. In the morning it was 12.22v

I took another reading this morning before I set off to work and it was reading 12.17v

The first time this happened was at a petrol station just after 20 mins of driving and the 2nd time was the first start in a morning?

I believe the voltage has to be below 10/10.5v to give the error code. Any ideas anyone ? Any other areas I could check ?

Many thanks!

When cranking your voltage will drop much lower. Sounds like it is time to replace the battery.
