Is my knock sensor on it's way out? High count of knock!

When I first bought my JDM EP3 with JRSC I did some datalogs and found the map to knock for 5 counts around 7.5k revs.
Tuner wouldn't help and had locked map so as I had a spare kpro I did my own map. However while tuning I was finding I could never get my knock count down no more what I tried on ignition so tried original one again and knock count varied from 16-24 counts where as I was only getting 5 before on same map.
I changed the plugs to one step colder incase it was that but no change. Tried retarding ignition from 21 to 18 degrees but if anything it was giving me more counts of knock. Now with this amount of knock I'd certainly feel it but car still pulls like a train.
I've checked my knock level and it never exceeds the threshold on any of the runs.
On a side note, I was that worried bout it I took it to a recent dyno day and asked the tuner to wear det cans while running it. He said he couldn't hear any knock. :?

Any ideas on what it could be?

Just did another datalog and got a record of 61 counts of knock. Actually the knock level exceeded the threshold this time.
I can never get a consistent record of knock so can't tune my car properly on the road.
Thing is I can't feel the knock at all. 61 counts is pretty severe so would deffo feel that.

I've attached 2 datalogs from today. Both done in 4th gear and only change is 3 degrees out ignition so u can see there is inconsistencies there.

you would for sure feel that in the pull of the car during the run. very odd my man. although kpro+KS picking up knock that doesnt exist isnt totally uncommon from my experience and reading about others. you took a whack of timing out with no effect so. you can probably run more timing on your low cam dude , unless you took that out as well cause of the knock. im still learning too so , thats the best i can offer , haha. good luck dude.

That igntion values are from a base map but I don't wanna advance my ignition at all until I get to bottom of the problem as I won't be able to tell what is true knock and what is false knock.

do you listen for it or rely on kpro to tell you solely? do you know what it sounds like?

By my arse gauge mostly  And Kpro but had it on dyno with Det cans last month and tuner heard no knock but heard to tell above 7k I'm told as quite noisey.

i hear ya. very strabge my man. you would definitely feel that knock in the car in the form of the feeling of miniature surges. or that bad simply fall on its face and fight for revs. if your car pulls like snot , tune AF and once you get it perfect. add some timing , see what you hear on the street. i dont have any experience with SC's , so maybe someone who does have experience with them can give you an idea of how much timing you can run. good luck dude.
