Problems after 3 bar map sensor install

Post by Joelspy70 »

So far I have tried 2 different 3 bar map sensors
1. SVE Map Sensor which is just a GM knock off
2. MSD map sensor which is the same one of the crsx store

SVE had no preset values in kpro and after calculating the values and inputing the correct ones it wouldn't even start or if it did start it would be with an engine light and a 4000 rpm limp mode.

I bought the msd sensor because it had presets in kpro and I thought it was the only thing I needed. Won't start with the preset value or the motec settings. After playing around with the settings I can eventually get it to start but in limp mode with an engine light and when I data-log in kpro the values for the map sensor stay solid at 5 psi.

I tried plugging the stock sensor back in, starts and runs perfectly fine. I have it wired so green white is in plug a, green red is in plug b, and yellow red in port c. According to Hondata's website this is correct. I have no clue what I am doing wrong.

Mods:
Peakboost turbo kit
Odyssey PC680MJ Battery
Innovative Mounts
Engine Ground on Head

alot of people have had problems with those map sensors. I recommend using the Motec 3bar sensor.

you need to make sure you solder the connections and don't just try to tap into the wires.

green/white= ground= pin a
green/red= signal to ecu= pin b
yellow/red= +5v= pin c

The pinout.

I'll be installing the MSD 3-bar in my car within the next few days. Hopefully all goes smooth.
