Hello,

Last week I was working on a car. The car was running with a P28 hondata socketed s300. When I come in the car (the motor was on) I connected my USB cable from the s300 to my computer. When I touch the plug with the USB cable, a little flash happened with a deep in idle.. and then it was not possible anymore to communicate with the s300...

Could electrostatic current have damage my s300? or the ECU? (the ECU seems to work and my computer as well)

Did someone had already this problem?

Thank

Gil

You have more than likely damaged the S300 or the ecu when you shocked it. A static charge can be 12,000 or more volts. YOu should test the ecu and s300 with another laptop as it may be the USB port on the laptop that you have damaged.

Thanks Spunkster. So it's not recomended to plug or unplug the laptop with the motor on.. Ok my laptop USB work well with the s200.

So I will send the s300 to CPL Racing to check it. Thanks
