DC5 VTEC PROBLEM

I have a problem. I bought a DC5 with a blown engine. I fitted a UK ctr motor and it won't open the high lift cams. It comes up with a VTC sensor failure on the K-pro. I realised that the K20a2 motor had the wrong VTC sensor (it had 2 sockets, blue and grey) not just the one grey. I swapped the sensors from the old motor but its made no difference. The fault manifests itself as a misfire it won't drive through at 4000rpm (I assume as a safety feature as the high lift cam is not operating). If I switch off the oil pressure switch it revs through but obviously the vtec is not working.
Is there something else diffenent about the UK motor that the DC5 ecu doesn't recognise.
It has been suggested that it could be a temp sensor running to cold that will stop the vtec.
Any input will be greatfully recieved. Thanks

I'm going crazy here. I have just resumed work on a S2000 with the K-pro conversion. Plugged in my laptop. Resumed mapping where I was a few weeks ago and I get the same problem occurring. I download the map and the car runs fine for a short while, I can see the vtec switching high and low tables as I rev the motor. Then the mil light comes on and the vtec fault comes back, the high lift cam doesn't operate. I re install the map (control U) even without switching the engine off, the mil light goes out and the vtec works again but only for maybe 15-20 seconds.
What am I doing wrong. I've followed all the changes for the S2000 making sure its a PRA calibration and all the detail changes that Hondata say to do are done (remember this was working fine before today, I just wanted to tune for more boost).
I've removed the K-pro from the laptop and re installed and it still does it.
Help please.

I've sent you everything but the datalog, which I will work on. But surely looking at my calibrations you can see if there is anything obvious?
I have set the speed for the vtec coming in at 0 mph is that an issue. Is the kPa that the vtec switches an issue? I have been looking at other members problems tonight and I see I have some things to try but your input would be useful. Thanks
