New to hondata, Here is my car, where do I go from here?

Post by LikWidChz »

Hi everyone, like to introduce myself Aaron here, located in portland oregon.

This is what Ive been toying around with the last year and needing it to pass emissions with trickery or not! so I can drive the thing. I would also like to let everyone know everything you see in the car internal and external has been done single handedly by myself, paint, bodywork, engine , wiring the whole shabang.

OK so yeah! thats basically it, I decided to make a 1 piece wire harness between the ECU and the engine because well... it looked neat and I learned a lot in the process about how honda ecu's are wired, it was lots of labor, and work to get the car where it is now I still need to buy carpet for it and redo the seat brackets and fix some other interor things along with get a CF hood for it and all that jazz..

OK so on to business,

Currently I have the P13 JDM h22a ecu and have a P06 ecu that came with my D15B8 lawnmower engine "wrong ecu for the CX model" either way thats what I have since the previous owner had the ecu stolen out of his car... regardless

Both ecu's are supported with some hondata system.

Currently I get the cel code "36 traction control", I am aware the jdm vs the us ecu for the H22a has the extra ecu connector, connector C, which is currently not plugged in as you can see in the photo above. I forsee when I have driven it a bit longer I will also get EGR cel and possibly another...

I do not have that solenoid connected between the FPR and the vacuum line "which im not quite sure what it does although I could take a guess as it will increase fuel pressure until that solenoid acuates allowing the engine to run rich untill that happens to warm up the car..." hows that for a guess??

Either way.... sidetracked here...

So I have read gains can be had on a stock h22a how much is clueless to me, is it worth the 600 bucks investment in the S300 system? I also don't know.. I am familiar with tuning as I help my buddy tune with Dsmlink "I hope thats not a bad word here  Either way, I am capable of tweaking things ever so slightly here and there, but probably wont do anything major.

So as it is the question stands What would you guys recommend for simple cel deletion , sensor rewire trickery and that sort?

I have posted on Honda-tech although some of the questions I ask are over most peoples heads and sorta difficult to get the information extracted that I need..

Thanks guys! hope to hear positive things from you fellas.

You cannot use the P13. To use a Hondata system, you will need to use a compatible OBD1 ecu from the list at http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html. You can then use the Hondata s100 or s300 depending on what options you want ( http://www.hondata.com/sproducts.html ). I would recommend the s300.

Yeah i realized you cant use a p13 on another post :( either way i have a p06 spare here from the stock engine..

As for my options thats why I wanted to know what any one elses recommendations are interms of s300 or simply splice some wires together to make the cel go away some magical way..
